Some of the work that has been done:
The sills have been welded and repaired.
Head gasket done along with top end rebuild and de-coked, timing belt done.
Loads of seals have been replaced throughout including cam cover gasket.
New exhaust fitted, wrapped in titanium heat wrap.
New alternator and water pump, serpentine belts replaced.
New distributor cap, HT leads and spark plugs fitted.
Vacuum lines replaced.
Brake callipers rebuilt, brake fluid flushed and braided lines fitted.
New brake pads and discs all round.
Gearbox rebuild carried out at gearbox specialists.
Drop links and ball joints replaced.
New all aluminium radiator fitted.
Cooling fans upgraded.
Black crystal indicators installed.
Light clusters tinted.
Speakers upgraded in factory places, looks stock nothing cut to fit.
Custom stitched steering wheel and gear selector gaiter in full grain leather and red stitching.
Red cluster lights installed.
Gas struts fitted to bonnet and engine cover - SO much easier!
New battery.
A few bad points:
This car has been loved and used, don’t expect a perfect example.
Wrap looks great from a few paces, has issues up close but could be removed.
One ding on rear offside wing from previous owner.
237963km or 148k miles on the clock, MOT history has been recorded poorly and so is shown in miles. This car which we named ‘Myrtle’ has been a real passion for me. I am a member of the MR2 forums, Facebook groups, etc… and used to be a paying member of the MR2 owners club. I have owned her for 7 years and have been right through the car. I have fixed, swapped out, updated and replaced every issue I have found.
She has the 175hp engine which is the most powerful from factory without going for a turbo model. Trust me in this car it’s plenty and is less hassle generally.
The wheels are a factory staggered set which I put on decent tyres, she corners like nothing else.
I have enjoyed owning my MR2, it’s been an absolute blast but the car does not fit my family lifestyle any longer, I’ve held onto her for longer than I should have really but two seats doesn’t work for us. This is the reason for sale.
Overall this car has been doted on and she looks fantastic. She’s absolutely ready for summer and to put a massive smile on your face!
