Description

1988 Jaguar XJS 3. 6 Manual in Dorchester Grey with Grey half leather and herringbone cloth. As was case with 3. 6 manuals of this period the car was marketed as a sport meaning it had factory sports suspension and ABS as standard. This particular example is in what can fairly be described as exceptional condition. The car was owned from new until 2021 by the same owner and one look under the bonnet, door shuts, wheels and wheel arches will tell you that this vehicle was cherished from day one and is a time warp example of the mark. This also means the car drives as close to a new one as you are likely to find, the car has no known faults and everything functions as it should.
• 4 Owners (I am the 5th, V5 in my name)
• 41, 933 miles
• MOT until 17/ 11/ 2024.
• Full service including all fluids replaced 05/ 05/ 2023. Interim service completed 26/ 04/ 2024
• 2 Sets of keys
• Full leather-bound original book pack with all manuals and service book.
• History file with a solid history of prior work including over £5000 spent in the last two years
• Original factory tool kit and jack in boot.
The first two owners of the car are the same person, it was bought through a company then sold to the director when he retired. The car then passed to a family member as part of a deceased estate in 2021. I have all the old V5's to prove the vehicles provenance. This car has never failed an MOT in its life and since 2003 has only had two advisories. One for low front brake pads and one for rear axle fluid leak (both rectified). The cars service history, while not complete, is comprehensive for a vehicle that has done so few miles. For illustration the car at its 6th service in 1991 had done 30, 676 miles. In the following 32 years I believe the car to have spent significant time in storage (although the MOT was still kept up to date and periodically serviced). Since coming into my ownership I have done approx. 1500 miles through frequent but sparing use. The car has had the following work of note (Documented spend in excess of £5000):
• Complete aircon overhaul costing in excess of £2000.
• Replacement diff pinion seal and gasket
• Replacement clutch slave cylinder
• Replaced front brake callipers, discs and pads
• Replaced rear brake pads
The car has no known mechanical or electrical faults. The bodywork, while not concourse, can be fairly described as exceptional for the age and mileage of the car. Viewing highly recommended as photo’s may not do the car justice. Any inspection welcome. Please contact for further details.
