A well maintained and excellent condition example of the highly sought after Innocenti Mini Cooper. This 1974 LHD Mini was one of thousands built under licence from British Leyland by Innocenti in Italy.
This car is the 1300 Cooper German Export model which had plastic arches to meet German legislation as well as non opening front window quarter lights. She sits on 10” wheels which add to the aesthetic of the car and add to the driving sensation too.
The interior sports the highly distinctive 6 dial dashboard and is perhaps the biggest deviation from the standard Mini Coopers of the era. Other refinements include the switch gear, interior light, door furniture and stainless steel door cappings. A panels sport the official red Export badges and all insignia on boot and grille has a typical Italian flair.
The engine is standard that was slightly modified during a 2008/ 09 restoration. There wouldn’t be a lot of work required to return the engine bay to factory original. The engine delivers a modest 70bhp but carries the car efficiently and it handles superbly for a 50 year old lady. The speedo reading is 32k KM
Finished in Ivory white with black roof, the locking full length webasto runroof is an addition that is not standard. It is watertight and looks like it belongs and is operated with ease with one hand. Bodywork is very clean with no rust. The underside has been treated and the subframes powder coated for added resistance to the UK elements. In the past 9 years the car has never been driven in the wet and has always been garaged.
The car turned my head when I saw her for the first time and I fell in love instantly. It really is a pleasure to own her and drive her. When I drive her, other road user smile and give a thumbs up and appreciative nods. There is something special about Minis and something extra special about an Innocenti Mini Cooper. I am selling as I need the space and because I simlpy do not have time to drive her as often as she deserves to be driven. Whoever buys this car will love it from the first drive. This is a very lovely example of a 1974 Innocenti Mini Cooper 1300 German Export Model. Bodywork is in very good condition. There is no rust and no damage. It is also lovely to drive and turns heads wherever she goes. The Webasto full length sunroof was not original but being honest it really is a lovely addition and adds to the enjoyment of the car especially in great weather.
