Description
Spectacular restoration of this 12/ 1964 Land Rover 2/ a petrol series, the car has been completely stripped down to the last screw, with the aim of restoring and improving this icon of the off-road world. The chassis was sandblasted, parts damaged by time replaced and then powder-coated to give it total protection. The bodywork was completely restored to sheet metal and repaired in all its points, then finally repainted with this special 'LUPO BLU' colour patented by us, which is iridescent and changes from petrol green to blue depending on the light. The galvanising has all been redone using the cold galvanising method. The mechanics have been completely overhauled, the engine has been overhauled and converted to use green petrol with modification of the cylinder head. The gearbox was replaced with that of a fully synchronised 3-series and fitted with an overdrive, which was also overhauled. Overhaul of the carburettor, total overhaul of the axles, total overhaul of the braking system with all components replaced with new original parts. The leaf springs were replaced with telescopic ones to give greater driving comfort. A new stainless steel exhaust system was fitted with a new exhaust manifold. The electrical system has been replaced with an original fabric one ordered in the UK with specifications for this car with the addition of the alternator modification in place of the dynamo for better lighting power. New fuel tank, new radiator, The lighting system is fitted with led bulbs but mounted in the original headlights so as not to change the appearance, the instruments have also been completely overhauled with led bulbs fitted. The car is also equipped with mechanical power steering that makes the driving very smooth and up-to-date. The windscreen wipers have been replaced with modern but vintage-looking wipers. The interior is new in the comfort version in a light tobacco colour that contrasts very well with the exterior colour. By our choice, the car has no heater and is fitted with a bikini top to enhance its personality. The wheels are fitted with Wolf rims with Yokohama tyres. All photos of the restoration are of course present and the car is sold with a full 1-year warranty. The hardware has been 90% replaced as have all worn parts. The brake system was rebuilt with copper piping. The work required more than 600/ 700 hours of labour. The car can be seen in the province of Milan.
