This is my 1989 Chevrolet Suburban 4x4 with Rough Country 4" lift kit. Regretfully for sale after being messed up by the painter that it went to in beautiful bare metal following my body off restoration with approximately 2000 hours work done. I repossessed it last autumn and just got it back into my own premises. The initial photos show it in more of a story format from when I had just put the body back on the powder coated chassis, how the engine and ancillaries looked, bare metalling it (500+ hours), delivery to the painter, then how it was found several years later and how it is now back in my workshop. Then there are a few photos of it during the build to show the stanard... I have hundreds! It is not on the 35" wheels/ tyres... it is now just on temporary 'rollers'.
It was destined to be the best in the UK, but I simply cannot redo it as I would again aim for that standard, thus for me it would be a body-off, re-bare metal it job... and I have multiple projects to do... including building a 45ft workshop at home to do them in. But for somebody who does not have the time invested in it like I do it could be carried on from where it is now and still be a really nice truck.
It has a lovely 350tbi motor, 700R4 overdrive transmission and from memory a 233 transfer case. Normally runs/ drives beautifully but the fuel pump packed up as I was loading it to take it to the painter in 2020... it must have known! The in-tank rubber hose failed due to fuel degrading it and blocking the pump... I had replaced the pipe once before already! It needs a hard tube pickup pipe in-tank and an external pump retro-fitting, which is easy to do. It fires right up while pouring fuel in tbi unit.
Offers will be ignored. I am heartbroken and still fuming about it so my patience is limited with people. I’ll keep it mothballed and do it myself once my home workshop is built if the price is not achieved.
