Description
Time warp Vauxhall Cavalier 1. 9GL coupe from 1976. 15, 000 miles from new and 2 owners in excellent original condition. The service/ MoT history supports the mileage. This car would make an excellent museum piece or grace a private car collection.
The condition is amazing and there are plenty of old MoTs and garage bills to verify the mileage. There are a few small marks and blemishes here and there on the original paintwork but overall this car is in stunning condition - inside and out. The ownership of this car transferred to me in 2021 from an elderly relative when she could no longer drive. It was her company car from new but was given to her as part of settlement package in 1979 when she left the company (there is a letter in the history) and registered in her name. She only used the car for local journeys and it has always been stored in a garage. Every time I drive this car it gets so much attention - it's a stylish car and the colour is lovely - and people remember their Cavaliers fondly. It was first registered in early 1976 so is an early model in the production run and was the top model in the range (according to the original sales brochure). The push button radio does not work and I haven't investigated why. There is a very small dent / cracked indicator lense on the nearside rear (when my relative nudged the gate post) but it is hardly noticeable and there is no paint damage. The engine bay / underside of the bonnet would benefit from a clean. I had to replace the windscreen washer bottle/ pump with a generic item for an MoT as the original pump was a bit weak but I kept it as it can probably be repaired. The tyres are old (purchased in 1979!) but haven't perished due to the dark storage. Not much to say because it is in excellent original condition. I have collected a few spares over the years (alternator, water pump, centre exhaust, hoses and ignition parts, etc) which will come with the car together with a tailor made indoor car cover.
