Car is in very good original condition. Bought this for my son & myself as a father son project 2 years ago. We bought it from a stored collection of 4 Volvo 480s discovered in a forgotten lockup. ( on YouTube )
We have done lots of work to recommission the car with new break lines, break pads & cleaned up the already very good original discs. We fully serviced the engine with all filters plugs & oil & all fluids. We have spent many hours looking for spares from all over the world as the parts are hard to find now. We had to find lights & window seals, along with other small parts to get it through its MOT which we were successful of achieving. On board computer all works well with all interior leather seats in fantastic shape. There is a crack in the drivers door cargo storage with some damage to door from what looks like the door having been over extended at some point, with some door jam damage. This is what I presume is the damage that made it a Salvaged car due to cost of repair in lts life at some point.. The door window mech as been replaced & it works perfectly so its never bothered us to go further with a full repair. The car could be taken to the next level, but is really useable in its current form. Has MOT till 3/ 10/ 2024 call the details belowCar has some paper work, lots of historic bills MOTs etc, but as I stated the car was stored for over 10 years so was in fairly great condition when we collected it. Has some paperwork to hand as above, but the full car pack is currently misplaced which we had, but we cant find it at present. My son learned to drive in the car over the last 5 months or so & finally passed 6 weeks ago. We have been to Norfolk on family trips in this & it drives & stops as it should with no mechanical issues. The car needs some minor body work with a few small issues as described ( drivers door) rear wheel arch but nothing serious. As I said, we have done light recommission work to get it road worthy for my son. The cheapest insurance quote for him was over £8000 so we where going to store it until he was able to afford it and was at least 21, which we were told by the only 2 company's prepared to even contemplate to offer him insurance. After lots of thoughts on whether to store it away from home or in our garage we have decided to sell it due to the impracticality of the situation. We have now bought him a Peugeot 1. 1 which he loves, so now he wants to move it on to someone that will get it restored to a proper finish. This is a really cool rare car in the best colour in my opinion. If you know about these cool Volvos then this is one of the Celebration cars. Will only go up in value now as they are getting very rare sight on british roads.
