Description
My late father's much loved Austin 7 Deluxe.
My father bought the car about 15 years ago. It had been stored for 11 years prior to this at a local classic car storage facility. When we got the car, it didn't have it's original number plate, and the DVLA had it registered as a 1963 vehicle. It took a while, but with help from the Essex Austin 7 club were were able to get an age related plate. She can be a bit of a slow starter. A squirt of engine start helps when first starting, then when warm she's no problem. That said she's not had regular used for the last couple of years and would benefit from regular outings.
Motorbike indicators have been fitted. New brake linings, dynamo has been refurbished, and on it's second set of Avon tyres since we've had her. New battery as of 3 months ago.
Paintwork remains how we got her. The bonnet and body reds are slightly different. Interior is good, and I believe original. Some of the black paint is a bit bubbly. Mechanically very good and has never once let us down.
It's not mint, but it is very useable right from the off. It has the potential to be taken futher if you so wish, but mainly needs more use.
