Description
I regretfully have to sell my 1998 Fiat Seicento Sporting Abarth that has only completed 8, 333 miles. I am a Fiat enthusiast and have owned this car for nearly 4 years during which time it has always been garaged and used for classic car shows and local Fiat owners’ events. In my ownership, I have had it maintained to the highest standards with the following work carried out:
NEW front brake callipers and flexi-pipes.
NEW brake master cylinder, brake line and brake fluid
Rear brakes stripped, new cylinders fitted and rebuilt
NEW Gates timing belt, water pump & tensioner
NEW radiator and full coolant flush
NEW spark plugs and up-graded plug leads
NEW exhaust system
Recently serviced with a full MOT until July 2025
The interior is in excellent condition and all the electrical functions are working fine except the radio where I think the aerial needs fettling. The only work that may need to be attended to is the re-glueing of the N/ S door card, a slight ticking noise from the speedo cable (the speedo and odometer work fine and it’s the same on my Cinquecento) and some paint imperfections (there is no rust and everyone I chat to at shows says the paintwork is fine for the age and part of the cars history)
The car has recently completed a 250 mile return trip to Co Durham and was utterly reliable. This sale represents a fantastic opportunity to own a rare, ultra-low mileage car and would make a perfect first classic. I am only selling as I have 2 Fiat project cars that require garage space! It is understood that the car was first purchased by an elderly farmer who drove it rarely before passing away. The car remained unused and sat outside for several years before all the farm equipment was sold at an auction in 2019. The buyer, a fellow Fiat enthusiast, carried out light re-commissioning (service, battery, new tyres, new front discs and pads), before selling it to me in October 2020. The original D C Cook dealer number plates remain as well as a D C Cook key ring! Also included in the sale are service/ parts invoices (last 4 years), a brochure, press photos and Seicento related Fiat HQ correspondence.
