STANDARD FAMILY 10
SUPER RARE - 54K MILES
( NOT FROM THE ALL SO COMMON AUSTIN OR MORRIS STABLE! )
After the 2nd World War the Standard Motor Company was under the command of a progressive and vigorous
Chairman, Sir John Black.
The NEW STANDARD RANGE from 1953 was remarkable in it's forward thinking. So much about it's design became the norm in later years. The basic Standard 8 set out to undercut Austin and Morris by £80.
However, ironically many buyers had factory fitted upgrades .
This delightful UNUSUAL little car is one of those examples being the RARIST VERSION REMAINING... The Family 10, as she is the bootless 8 with the more powerful 948cc engine, together with a 4-speed synchromesh gearbox.
The deep shining black paintwork is eye-catching, enjoys a striking original red leather interior, a retro-style dashboard fitted from new and enjoys a lovely tidy engine bay when showing her.
She starts on the button has travelled just 54k miles and is a rare survivor in this much loved and cared-for condition.
All that is needed is an upgrade 3/ 4" brake master cylinder, which has been purchased and not fitted.
This is a genuine Private Sale with V5c in my name and being sold to fund our son's house purchase.
