This is my 1988 mk2 gti 8v campaign edition which is aparently 1 in 10 million. So i purchased this a few months ago with all intentions of carrying out a minor restoration however due to house renovation dragging on and a change in my circumstances im just not going to find the time to do it. Im hoping someone will take it on and finish it the way it deserves to be and go to a good home. When i got it iv freed up the brakes, scraped the old wax oil off from the underside which looks to have protected the floors really well, there is rust on the rear arches and two patches on the sills (not big), i bought and will put with the car the body panels for this which maybe an overkill for what i can see but i wanted it to be right. Someone with welding skills would have this sorted very easily. Its had a fuel pump, cambelt, waterpump, new radiator as it had pin holed, engine does start but seems a little loud but it could be with being sat for long periods as i believe the 8v is pretty bullet proof. It was dry stored from 2009, it has stainless exhaust, stealth parcel shelf(fiberglass) with no holes, all original interior and headlining is good no sag and she cleans up really well. Its had 5 owners and hpi clear as i checked before i bought it. Im not trying to make a profit the car owes me approx 3k as it sits, its a lovely straight car and if put back to original it would require small bumpers and the original wheelsOriginal mots, books and tax discs all with the car and stamped history book
