Original Mark 2 Ford Escort Ghia 1. 6 1600 GT
Kept in the same family from new with only 2 owners. Regularly driven until 2008 then the car has been stored in a dry garage and hasn’t been started since. Full service history is available with receipts and invoices.
Black Interior is excellent condition with original seats, headline and carpets.
Structurally the car is sound as it has been stored dry for the last 16 years and before that kept in a garage.
Car needs a light restoration and being made roadworthy after being sat. The car is currently not running.
The Ghia difference
Underneath the boxy body, everything was much the same as the Mk1 model, but the addition of the 1599cc 'Kent' engine at the top of the range created the appeal six-pack dial Escort 1. 6 Ghia. The existing 1098cc and 1298cc engines continued as they were.
An excellent base without any restoration having been done. Please make me an offer if this is a project you are interested in. This car has been kept in the same family, having passed from father to son. It has been a well loved car, but it really needs to be driven and appreciated rather than sitting unused in a garage. The car has not been started and would require some work to get it roadworthy, this is a great mini project for someone. For its age, the car structurally is in excellent condition.
The car looks great in silver with the black vinyl roof, with the headlights and chrome bumpers. It is a real classic that has not been changed from original.
