Description

Mercedes 300 SLR “722” — Bespoke Recreation Project

We are currently seeking a client for this entirely handcrafted recreation of the legendary Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR “722”, driven to victory by Stirling Moss in the 1955 Mille Miglia — one of the most iconic racing cars in history.

Our workshop —the same team behind a faithful recreation of the 1957 Maserati 450S— is building this masterpiece from the ground up, with exceptional attention to historical accuracy and engineering craftsmanship.

Key features:
• Custom-built tubular chassis, designed for dynamic performance
• Lightweight aluminium or composite bodywork, true to the original “722” roadster
• 3. 0L inline-6 engine, based on the Mercedes “Adenauer” block, fully rebuilt and tuned (mechanical fuel injection optional)
• 5-speed manual transmission
• Period-correct interior, with classic gauges and minimalist racing details
• Open-top Spider configuration, inspired by the 1955 Mille Miglia car
• Delivered with FIA HTP (Historic Technical Passport) — eligible for historic racing events

This is a limited run of just 2 units.
• Unit 1 is already in development and will be delivered in 3 months
• Unit 2 is now available for commission, with an estimated delivery time of 10 months

A rare opportunity to own a truly special tribute to motorsport history.

• Faithful tribute to a motorsport legend – Inspired by Stirling Moss’s victory in the 1955 Mille Miglia with the legendary 722.
• Crafted by experts – Built by the same team behind the acclaimed Maserati 450S recreation, known for precision, authenticity, and craftsmanship.
• True to the original spirit – Chassis, layout, proportions and detailing follow the SLR philosophy: lightweight, raw, and built for speed.
• Authentic power – 3. 0L inline-6 engine based on Mercedes’ M186 block, as used in the original 300SLR, fully rebuilt and tuned by hand.
• FIA HTP certification – Delivered with Historic Technical Passport, allowing participation in top-tier historic racing events worldwide.
• Road and race ready – Built for dynamic driving, with a modernized 5-speed manual gearbox for superior usability and performance.
• Period-correct aesthetics – Aluminium or composite body, minimalist racing interior, classic VDO-style instruments — pure 1950s competition feel.
• Exclusive run – Only 2 units will be built. Unit 1 is nearly complete (delivery in 3 months); Unit 2 is the final opportunity (delivery in 10 months).
• Investment-grade collector car – Built with high historical fidelity and limited availability — a unique opportunity for serious collectors.
• A unique opportunity: We are also in possession of an original engine block once owned by Juan Manuel Fangio, which can be reserved for a future 300 SLR build — an unmatched provenance piece for the ultimate collector.
