Description

Genuine UK registered Z650B1.
During my ownership I have comprehensively refurbished the bike into a usable but very presentable Z650 Kawasaki. It won the Best Kawasaki at the Japanese modern and classic motorcycle show held at Donnington Park. It should be noted that I rode the bike to this event as it is not a cosseted show queen but a very nice example of a rideable Kawasaki classic.
The following work has been undertaken :-
Powder coated frame, swinging arm and all ancillaries
Rebuilt wheels with S/ S rims and spokes
Second disc and calliper installed with uprated master cylinder
Re-chromed original exhaust system and silencers
Re-chromed various brackets and ancillaries
Re-plated spindles, springs, spacers, nuts etc
New Avon AM26 tyres, tubes and rim tapes
Many polished stainless steel bolts and washers
The mudguards are both original and the chrome plate is immaculate.
The paintwork to the petrol tank, plastic tail unit and side panels are all original. There are a few small blemishes on the tank but the original finish has been retained rather than loosing the original patina of age.
The seat base and seat cover are original and undamaged.
The owners manual and full original Kawasaki toolkit are present.
The original genuine Kawasaki handlebar grips are fitted.
A new Motobatt battery and optimate lead are installed.
New DID O ring chain and sprockets.
The engine has had a new starter clutch fitted.
The engine sump (removed for the starter clutch) was found to be as clean as a whistle which indicates frequent oil changes.
All the old MOTs are present to prove the mileage of 23, 781 miles.
It has replacement Koni rear dampers
It is fitted with chromed crash bars.
Full documentation and receipts for the work is available.
If the new owner wishes to return it to standard I have all the original bolts and brake master cylinder as well as numerous spares. I bought one of these new in 1977 and raced it in the production class in Scotland at Knockhill, Beverage Park and East Fortune with some success against 1000cc bikes. I gave up motorcycle racing at the end of 1977.
I purchased this bike in May 2013 for nostalgia reasons.
