Bmw r65 1981 with mot and in weekly 30 mile use. Bike is well maintained and much maintenance carried out in last 2 years. Additional to servicing.... seals replaced, good tyres Metz rear Avon front, vgood braking, gear oils replaced, deep sump, clean exhausts, Venhill twin brake lines etc... 1st of the later ignition bikes. A lovely example of the r65... Personalised with modern led head/ tail lamps for daily riding and classic rear seat giving a clean period look.
Jobs undertaken to get her to weekly use reliability:
Overhauled charging system.
Rear brake drum shaft o rings replaced
Sidelight {riding} switch installed
Ignition switch relocated with new connector harness.
Cleaned and tuned carburettor for good idle and run on good bronze mixture.
New final drive {drum end} gasket prior to new gear oils.
Improved seat cushion/ padding for longer rides.
Added new rear reflector.
This is no picture bike... Its an in use cruiser/ tourer. Mot history indicates true mileometer reading on period speedo
