Description

After 29 years of ownership, I'm selling my 1934 Hudson Victoria Coupe.

The car has had only 3 owners from new and has an interesting back story - I have the original Illinois Title document still in the envelope it was mailed to the first owner !

It's 1 of 4 1934 Hudson Eight Victorias worldwide known to the Hudson/ Essex/ Terraplane Club. Although it's a very rare 1934 Hudson body style, there is excellent mechanical parts availability through the UK Railton Owners Club - Railton used Hudson chassis and mechanicals without any modification for their well-known sportscars. The ROC helps its members around the World with its parts scheme and advice. The US based Hudson/ Essex/ Terraplane Club is also a great source of help and parts to pre-war Hudson owners.

Since I've owned the car, work carried out includes -
Professional engine rebuild - new pistons, ring, valves and seats, bearings, etc.
Repaint (in an original 1934 Hudson colour) and underbody painted.
Most chrome re-done.
Restored interior.
Full professional rewire using modern cotton covered materials
Overhauled dynamo.
New fuel lines and stainless steel fuel tank.
Re-cored radiator.
Electric fuel pump.
All rubber seals, running board covers, etc, replaced.
New carburettor (Daytona Parts replica Zenith 228).
Resurfaced clutch using Kevlar in place of cork.
New shock absorbers.
New universal joints.

Included in the sale are -
Original owners' handbook and 1934 sales brochure.
Hudson workshop manual.
Spares including rare items such as clutch disc, headlight lenses, speedometers, etc.
Original 1930s accessories - wind wings, column mounted indicator switch, spare wheel lock, Hudson gearshift knob - please note that the rear view mirror/ clock in the pictures is NOT included in the sale but the original mirror will be.

The car is running nicely thanks to the help of a friend, who is a Rolls Royce trained engineer, with the mechanical work and it has recently (2024) been a concours winner.

I'm happy to supply more details and pics of the car to genuinely interested persons.

The car is for sale is for sale for genuine family health reasons - my wife recently suffered a spine injury and now finds it difficult to get in and out of the car. Hence the car is very realistically priced. I'm not, therefore, interested in "part exchanges" by buyers.
