For sale my 1997 MX-5 1. 8i Mk 1 NA in British Racing Green,
The car has covered a genuine 35, 259 miles, evidenced by an excellent MOT history and a detailed service history record which can be found in the attached photos.
Since acquiring the car I have undertaken a full recommissioning as the car had effectively been in storage, covering less than 9, 000 miles in the last 18 years, by the last owner.
The recommissioning included having a full safety check and condition assessment by a classic car restoration company. This resulted in a full service changing all oils and fluids, plugs, air filter and 4 new tyres, All hoses, belts, fuel lines and braking system were checked with no issues found. Some paint correction was undertaken to repair a number of small ‘car park’ type dents the car had suffered whilst in storage. A full ceramic coating was also applied which makes the car now look stunning.
No structural repairs or welding work was identified as being required as part of this recommissioning work.
The car has no rust and has never had any repairs for accident damage to my and the previous owners knowledge.
I had an HPI check before I bought the car, the results were all clear apart from a number plate change warning, which checked out correctly as it had been fitted with a personal plate which is now removed.
The car was standard Mazda spec when I acquired it. I have made a couple of changes to the steering wheel and centre console, as I prefer the layout and leather steering wheel. The original items will come with the car, so can be easily replaced if preferred.
The car also comes with a factory option tonneau cover and windbreak. Original hood in excellent condition, new rear window fitted in 2024.
If you are looking for a well cared for very original MX-5 in fantastic condition you would be hard pressed to find a better one!
