Description
For sale is a former magazine featured (VW Ultra) 1966 Beetle Karmann Cabriolet. In excellent condition, this car has a strong 1600cc dual port engine with new twin 40s Webber style carburettors with custom air filters, stainless steel exhaust, leak free hood in fantastic condition, white wall tyres from Mr Whitewalls which are fitted to original 15 inch smoothie wheels, immaculate interior, Retrosounds Bluetooth stereo unit, Aircooled accessories headlight grills, and Vintage Speed shifter.
The paintwork is still in excellent condition but does have some minor scuffs and marks - mainly from storage - and there is a small amount of rash on one panel, as shown in pictures. There are very few pre-67 cabs available for sale, especially in the UK and in this condition. I was recently contacted by a previous owner who confirmed the car was restored around the year 2000. He explained it had new floor pans, strengthening channels, frame head repairs, and had the hood made from scratch by AWT Trim in Witney. He also said the car had been sprayed by his brother in law who at the time worked at Aston Martin as their chief paint sprayer.
Imported to the UK in 1974, this Beetle, which has been owned by us for the last 9 years (always garaged and regularly maintained by Paul at Harry Harpics), offers a unique opportunity for the next custodian to take this awesome car to the next level. With a folder full of receipts, as well as a certificate from VW Automuseum, there is plenty of history to sift through.
