Mercedes-Benz W123 – Featured in Mercedes Enthusiast Magazine
A rare opportunity to own a truly cherished Mercedes W123, proudly featured in Mercedes Enthusiast Magazine and well maintained.
This classic saloon has a fully documented service history, primarily with main dealers, at the following intervals:
1, 043 | 5, 995 | 11, 917 | 17, 867 | 23, 800 | 29, 933 | 36, 096 | 42, 813 | 48, 866 | 53, 563 | 60, 302 | 66, 456 | 73, 196 | 78, 258 | 86, 237 | 89, 330 | 92, 558 | 102, 174 | 107, 018 | 112, 788 | 117, 545 | 121, 763 | 125, 557 | 131, 160 | 146, 187 miles (where a valve adjustment was carried out). Since then, maintenance has been carried out by myself, a trusted local garage, and Mercedes specialist Andy Gayle. The car has never missed an MOT and remains in excellent mechanical health.
Mechanical Highlights:
Engine mounts replaced by Schmitt Motors (2009)
Propshaft coupling, track rod arms, gearbox mounting, and steering damper all replaced
Bilstein HD shock absorbers fitted all round
Full Mercedes exhaust system (centre + rear box) fitted
The car drives beautifully.
Extras & Upgrades:
Rare and desirable 15-inch Bundt alloys, professionally refurbished (far more valuable and striking than the standard 14s) with 4 x Continental tyres with plenty of tread left.
Working factory air conditioning (would benefit from a re-gas)
Cruise control, electric mirrors, and sunroof all working.
Clifford G5 alarm & immobiliser with visual flashing LED warning – which some insurance requires now.
The previous owner installed a professional audio system with high-end component speakers, subwoofer, tweeters and amplifier. The installation is completely discreet with astonishing sound quality. The Pioneer head unit is also iPhone compatible with hands-free calling
Interior:
Cream cloth interior with zebrano wood accents and a leather steering wheel
Original Mercedes floor mats in exceptional condition
Very clean, tidy cabin – clearly looked after
Always Garaged | Never Driven in the Rain
The car is a few months away from turning 40 years old so will be MOT and ULEZ exempt
A few honest bits to note:
Driver’s seat bolster has a small repair. There is spare original fabric hidden behind the rear bench if a neater job is desired – I just never got around to it.
Rear passenger window is temperamental – likely a loose regulator or tired motor. All other windows operate as they should.
Serious enquiries only, please.
