Is this Bruno Sacco designed "Sonderklasse Einspritzmotor Coupe" the pinnacle of Mercedes Benz engineering and design?
The C126 was way ahead of its time in the 1980s and in our opinion the zenith of German automotive engineering. It was also the most expensive Mercedes that you could purchase at the time at around £75, 000 on the road.
Innovations included: aluminium weight-saving bonnet, roof panel and boot lid, an all aluminium Nikasil V8 engine, with Bosch K Jetronic fuel injection, producing 300 bhp, ABS, ASR, hydro-pneumatic rear suspension plus much more.
This example is presented in metallic Almandine Red over a beautiful mushroom/ beige interior.

Engine and gearbox fully rebuilt in 2019 including new timing chain, sprockets and ALL timing chain guides, (not just the top ones) new torque converter, new oil pump, new hydraulic pump, new water pump and all new rubber parts to engine. MB original parts used wherever possible.
