The Appeal:
Conceived as a range-topping grand tourer, the E31 8 Series was destined to be a very special car, showcasing the very best of BMW’s design, engineering and technology. Launched in 1990, the 8 Series received a warm reception although with global recession looming, sales of BMW’s expensive sports coupé suffered. By the time production ended in 1999, just 3, 040 officially came to the UK, making a well-preserved survivor such as this a rarity indeed.
This 840 CI Sport boasts an enviable specification as an ‘Individual’ model, which includes the ‘Anthracite’ paintwork and ‘Light Silver/ Grey’ leather upholstery. With a rich history file, 91, 996 miles on the odometer and an advisory-free MOT valid until 12th November 2024, this BMW grand tourer would be a great addition to any driveway.

Current owner notes (bought car via C&C auction March 2024), Items 1-5 below not highlighted by previous London owner:
1. Tyres old - to be changed will be done for new owner
2. Could benefit from a new exhaust but still life in original
3. Slight oil leak from rocker cover gaskets.
4. Interior heating system – noticed warm air only coming through
5. 1 Key
6. Car only driven 200 miles or so since March 2024.
7. Dry stored and trickle charged since ceramic coating April 2024 with the odd drive out to keep things moving.
8. This is a stunning looking car in the Anthracite Metallic and the immaculate silver leather interior. It drives really well, and that engine sound is really addictive. Letting one or two cars go over the coming months including this beauty as I just don’t have the time to keep them all right. Viewing’s welcome for Genuine callers. Transport back to UK can be organised easily enough. Car currently Sorn.
