1994 Harley Davidson XL883 Sportster.
I’ve had this little Sportster for about 4. 5 years, selling to fund another endeavour. The bike has done 23, 286 miles in its 30 year lifespan, the majority of those miles with me around France and Spain. It took me to Catalonia and back just last summer, without putting a foot wrong.
The Evo engine is dependable and reliable, while still offering that icon lumpy Harley feel. The bike starts on the button, runs and rides as it should. This is a carburetted XL model, with the flatter style bars on, as compared to the XLH 'Hugger' with the bull horn style bars.
The Sportster is relatively 'stock'. It has an upgraded 'Billet' style front brake calliper to increase its stopping power, and a larger 12. 5 litre fuel tank to increase its range. The tank was a hog parts aftermarket tank professionally painted to match the fender colour by Flakeys Custom Paint Studio in Bromsgrove. I still have the original 'peanut' style tank in the matching red and am willing to do a deal to include it in the sale. Otherwise the bike has its original factory lights and indicators, as well as the now rare original seat.

The bike is currently stored at my fathers workshop in Ditton Priors, Shropshire, but viewing can be arranged. It is SORN, but will be sold with a full MOT. Cash or BAC's on collection. I bought the sportster in early 2021. I believe I was the 4th official owner, as the guy a bought it off got it in a part X and didn't register the bike himself. Up to that point, the bike had been a garage queen/ pub hopper. It had just under 12000 miles on it at that point. In the years I have owned it, its been garage stored for the winters, but used extensively in the summers. In 2022, it covered 4000 miles around France and northern Spain, and in 2024 it covered 3000 miles to Catalonia and back. In that time its been regularly serviced and loved. Fresh engine and transmission oil at the beginning of the spring every year, as well as oil filters. Its got a set of Avon Cobra tires on it, that where installed about 1000 miles ago, with brand new Dunlop innertubes.
