Description
For sale-my 1978 Beta Montecarlo series one Spyder in red. 53, 500 miles. This car has been recommissioned to a great standard in the year and a half that I’ve owned it, which has included many upgrades and preventative maintenance improvements to ensure it can be used reliably. It has recently covered a trouble free 400 plus miles to the Bicester Scramble car show from North Yorkshire! Too many improvements to list in an advert , but includes: electronic ignition upgrade using new Ignition 123 distributor set up, Facet silver top fuel pump, Malpassi fuel pressure regulator, upgraded battery, new hi torque Wasp starter motor, various relay wiring upgrades, recently fitted twin Weber 42dcnf carbs with racing technologies airbox etc, recent timing belt. Seats and door cards reupholstered in Italian red leather, Fittipaldi leather steering wheel, Alpine radio cassette and 6 stack cd auto changer in glove box, led rear light bulbs, bmw e30 headlamp conversion. The bodywork was restored and re sprayed in red from its original blue in 1996 but the car remained off the road and dry stored since then, only being finished and returning to the road in my ownership in 2024. Correct bow tie wheels have recently been stripped and powder coated, and as new Yokohama 205/ 60/ 13 tyres fitted. The car is registered historic, and so is tax and MOT exempt. The car drives extremely well and turns heads wherever it goes. It recently won ‘Car of the show’ in Ripley , North Yorkshire in 2024. Thousands spent on above work, most of which has been completed within the last 12 months. The spyder vinyl roof folds back easily when needed. Impending daughters wedding is tempting me to sell it and buy something a little cheaper. Ready for enjoying the Summer!
Reduced to £17950 for a prompt sale. Over 15k spent on it over the last 2 and a half years. Viewing in Harrogate , North Yorkshire. There were only 338 rhd series one Spyders ever made. Mine is apparently 9th from last series one Spyder produced. The car attracts admirers wherever you go, so you will need to get used to attracting so much attention!
