Cruises on the motorway at 65 / 70 mph all day long and if you need a blast, she picks up well and whizzes past others. She's equally as good on the back roads.
I'll happily take anyone out for a blast.
I've done a good amount of work to her including the following.
New fuel pump and new check valve banjo bolt.
New fuel injector seals
New fuel pressure regulator/ fuel accumulator
New fuel filter
New air filter
New oil and oil filter
New spark plugs throughout and new HT leads.
New gearbox oil
New distributor cap and dizzy arm.
New water pump and gasket
New thermostat
Professionally repaired thermostat housing
New timing belt and tension-er wheel
New coolant
Repaired drivers seat and rear seat
Original steering wheel professionally re stitched.
New front brake discs and pads
Fully rebuilt starter motor professionally
New front wheel bearings
New handbrake return spring
Two new front tires
Electrics professionally tested for safety
Lots of repainted brackets and covers in the engine bay plus all new fixing nuts and bolts
She's been really well cared for and driven many happy miles.
The only two issues are that the odometer does not record miles but the speedometer does work as it should.
The other issues is the blower motor does not blow but the car will still demist slowly. And the hot cold temp still works. When driving airflow is fine to keep things clear.
Heating and cooling works OK. As does every thing else in the car.
The paint is tired and has the odd tiny ding. A few scuffs and scrapes.
MOT and tax exempt
In conclusion, this is a good classic car. She is easy to drive and plenty fast enough. I get very good mpg as well.
A very good base to make a mint car, or very fine to use as is.
No doubt more issues will arise over the years but as long as you are prepared to stay on top of things you'll have a fab car for a long time.
