Description
Suzuki RG 250 Gamma MK3 1988 in the very desirable Pepsi livery with the later higher power 49-50hp engine. The bike was recommissioned, cleaned, tidied up and MOT’d by the previous owner about a year ago after a period of time in storage. Prior to this, the bike was last MOT’d in 2016 and covered less than 50 miles in this 8-year period. It was fitted with a new battery, Bridgestone Battlax tyres (The rear tyre still had the pips on it but was 24 years old, and the front was 20 years old, both looked hardly used and were only replaced due to age cracking), a horn, spark plugs, DEP silencers, fairing bolts, rear pad cover (was missing), and pedal rubbers. The carbs were removed and cleaned, the brake fluid changed, and it was filled with new 2-stroke oil.
The bike is in very original, unrestored condition, and whilst it’s not perfect, I would describe it as a very good, honest example. It has some small fairing cracks and marks, but is still very presentable for a 37 year-old bike. Mechanically it is all in good order, it is a very fast and nimble machine that runs and rides well.
The bike has had only four former keepers from new and will come with a new MOT from May. It is ready to be enjoyed by a new owner, I am only selling it due to downsizing my small motorcycle collection due to lack of use (unfortunately trivial things such as family life is getting in the way of the import stuff – riding and tinkering with motorcycles!). RG 250 two-stroke models are now rare and do not often come up for sale.
