Description
I’m offering this for sale for 1 week only (until end of day 21st May).
1997 Fiat Bravo HGT
An early car with the aluminium valve cover and intake. 69, 000 miles, full service history, all keys. Factory A/ C & Sunroof car, (extremely rare).
Heraldic Blue Metallic 483A
Full glass out, engine out respray last year, which looks phenomenal.
Full underside restoration.
Original wheels
This is a rust free car.
All 4 brake calipers completely rebuilt with all new components and galvanised gold at Bigg Red.
New headlights, tail lights, indicators, badges all round. Like new Pirelli tyres.
Engine was removed solely for the purpose of isolating the block to paint it while getting any aluminium external engine parts vapour blasted.
The cylinder head has been dismantled as well in order to change the valve stem seals, (which it didn’t need). All components have been stored, bagged and labeled correctly.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the engine. This is a passion project gone a little too far and for too long and now time has come into play.
This amount of money I’ve spent on this car is silly and the number of things already replaced/ refurbished is staggering. The care and attention to detail that has gone into this would surely impress anyone. There’s too much to list but anyone who is interested can ask.
Some examples: new spring cups welded into rear subframe, trailing arms rebuilt with new bearings, rear wheel bearings rebuilt instead of replaced simply for keeping original hubs, exhaust repainted, wing mirror mounting plates cerakoted.
I’ve sourced parts from literally all over Europe, from a new-old-stock valve cover from Germany to badges from Italy no longer available, all the way down to small clips, etc etc. Even have a new set of all 4 NOS side strips (impossible to find).
The engine bay is already prepped, I’ll get a photo of this. The engine harness has been restored/ rewrapped along with more wiring in the engine bay.
The interior trim has been reinstalled following the respray.
This is a big loss financially. The car was in good condition before I even started working on it and this was purely a passion project and a car I wasn’t planning on selling, but that’s just how it goes sometimes.
If nobody buys it, I will finish the build myself and advertise it for considerably more. I’ve just decided it’s worth seeing if someone will take it now for this price considering my time and decision to sell.
All that’s needed to complete:
- Fiat grey engine paint for the black
- Gasket kit
- Timing belt kit
- Cylinder head reassembling (block internals untouched and don’t need to be) then putting the rest of the engine back together and back in the car
- Small 3-way rubber pipe that goes on intake that broke when removing
I’ll add more photos of the work done as I find them. I’ll also attach a photo of the engine in the car just for reassurance of the completeness of this project and of the whole car shortly before rebuilding.
£5, 000An outstanding example of a true Italian car that will never cease to bring a smile to your face, music to your ears and joy to your heart. With its 5 cylinder, 2 litre twincam singing away as you fly down the B roads on a summers day, the nostalgia and driving bliss will surely be sensational.
