Description
1965 Chevrolet Bel Air (Lowrider)
On the 9th of February in 1965 Louise of 203 Murdock Rd, Baltimore, took delivery of this 283 Chevy.
Fast forward 38 years and it was imported in 2003 where she has since had just 3 Former Uk Keepers
The car is completely solid, never had or needed welding and has always been kept in doors or under cover.
Underwent a major restoration by previous owner including all bushes replaced, timing chain, and most seals and gaskets.
It’s fitted with an EFI “Sniper” kit, a reputable and popular choice for converting these to fuel injection and it works a dream, starts first time every time regardless of temperature and prevents stalling when hopping. Has a digital read-out on the dash showing RPM, Temps, a/ f ratio, battery voltage etc. the car also has Bluetooth & upgraded speakers.
Car is clean inside and out for a 60 year old car, but don’t forget that it is just that, a 60 year old car. It has 2 or 3 very small rust bubbles appearing under the paint on the bonnet & n/ s front sill. Seats have been reupholstered with customer stitching, carpet is in great shape and interior is generally good besides a hole in the roof lining about the size of a 10p piece.
Has been fitted with an impressive ‘Hoppos’ 3 pump hydraulic set up consisting of 8 batteries (48v front & 24v to the rear) supplied by LayNPlay Hydraulics here in the UK. It has had custom reinforced and extended upper front arms, and a fully fabricated rear assembly allowing 3 wheels. It’s sitting on 72 spoke reverse laced 13” chrome wire wheels with 3 spoke centre lock knockoffs.
The roof has had custom paint which can be seen in the images.
Car is capable of small hops and standing 3 wheels, and hires out for prom work at £480/ run without issue if you’re in to that sort of thing. * note it has two bookings in June
Has tons of original US paperwork including the original service book, dealer hanger and lots more.
The car also has tons of spares including the original carb for converting back if desired, spare seals, bushes, trackrods, door mirrors and loads more.
The car is at plenty of shows this year and is in constant use, so mileage will increase and work in the car will continue to be done over time.
