1938 MG TA, registration FZ2756, engine No MPJG1028, chassis No TA2623.
4 owners, bought from Thompsons Belfast in 1938 by we believe Ken Mackenzie just as the Second World War started and he put the car in storage, as he had joined the RAF, later becoming a Battle of Britain pilot Wing Commander K. W. Mackenzie, DFC, AFC, AE. The car reapears some time later.
The car has undergone a full nut and bolt restoration since found languishing in the back of TJ Grattan & Sons, motor engineers, Belfast in 1994.
Engine rebored to plus 40, new pistons and connecting rods, white metal bearings, cam followers, camshaft. Carburettors completely refurbished by Burlen Fuel Systems. Body tub has a complete new Ash frame by Enrique Llinares of Burton in Lonsdale. All new body panels except for the bonnets and dash top. Full bare metal shell paintjob in Mercedes Gullwing Moss Green. Interior is a complete Mike & James Collingburn set. 5 Blockley tyres, tubes and inner rim bands. Complete origional tool kit, Tyre pump and screw jack. There are to may parts etc to list in this advert.
Car has been verified by the DVLA and a new V5 issued, old Buff Log book present.
The selling price comes nowhere near the final restoration cost.
The car runs but has not been driven on the road due to my health issues in 2022. Offers will be given consideration.
