1985 Mk3 Ford Escort 1. 6i Mfi Cabriolet in Azure Blue, 55600 miles, historic vehicle (tax and mot exempt), 12 months mot with no advisories and a comprehensive folder of history with the car, which includes, old V5c's, mot certificates, receipts for work done / parts fitted.
I've owned the car for 12 years and maintained her to a good standard. She is ready to drive away and enjoy.
She has a mohair roof fitted with the original glass heated rear window and not the femer original vinyl type and comes with the original ford light grey tonneau cover to cover the roof when down. The two front doors have cental locking also with a closing button integrated in the dash. She also has bumper over riders fitted front and back. The car has 5 original clover style alloys fitted with Pirelli P500 tyres, there's also the original ford jack and wheel brace in the boot with the spare wheel.
The interior of the vehicle is in good condition with no rips or tears, and the rear seats are fitted with genuine Ford optional rear lap seat belts, not standard fitment till 1986.
Being a Cabriolet the dash has the usual cracks along the top but overall is good with the original cassette pop out draws still present and the audio joystick is fully operational. The car has a Ford RDS2006 radio cassette fitted and has a fully automatic electric aerial. The speaker pods are untouched and original very rare for these cars.
The car doesn't have any rot and is solid throughout, the only areas of welding that's been done is a small patch on the nearside inner wing and a new battery tray, both common areas to go but are fully dealt with.
Being 40 years old there are some marks / imperfections in the paintwork which shows the genuine nature of her life which I've left to keep her as original as possible. But overall the paintwork is good.
During my ownership, ive maintained her to a high standard and the following work has been done:-
New clutch, replacement battery tray, new rear tie bars, front drop arms, suspension bushes, battery, timing belt and water pump, full exhaust, brake pads and shoes, spark plugs, filters and fluids, tyres and petrol tank. There is an extensive history file accompanying this car, fully documenting it's history thoughout its lifetime with its pre ious owners, including old V5c, mot certificates and receipts for work done and parts purchased for the vehicle. There is also the vehicle ownership history from the DVLA which you can no longer get due to GDPR. The history is shown in the photographs.
