Description
1995 Volvo 940 GLE 2. 4 turbo diesel intercooler. This has been my daily driver for the last 2 years and been faultless. However it developed an engine issue yesterday and now struggles to idle and is rattling. I think either piston rings or a dropped valve, can’t see any damage with the rocker cover off but there’s a lack of compression at one point when turning over by hand and it is burning oil. No sign of head gasket failure. Still runs and drives but needs attention, which I don’t currently have the time or driveway space to give it. Gearbox, brakes etc all spot on and it drove lovely up until yesterday in spite of the miles.

Side exit exhaust that was a temp measure
Serviced every 5k in my ownership
Bodywork has its share of battle scars, still looks nice
Ideal for an engine conversion if you have the means and inclination
