MOT UNTIL 27 MAY 2027
RATHER THAN LET THE CAR SIT IN MY GARAGE UNUSED, I`VE DECIDED TO SLASH THE PRICE UNTIL 1ST AUGUST . BUT NOE STRICTLY NO OFFERS I`M LOSING ENOGH AS IT IS
I have restored classic cars as a hobby , for over 30 years , but due to age and serious health problems, I decided this MG TF would be my last project . Hence I have thrown a significant amount of time and money in getting the car how I want.
I have had previous experience of these cars , so I knew what I was looking for when shopping for one , It had a new MOT and a recorded mileage of 75378 verified , by its past MOTs Though solid and rust free, the bodywork had acquired a number of battle scars , the rear bumper badly damaged, and one of the rear wheel arches, had lost a battle with the previous owners gate post. I spent the next several months, slowly and carefully repairing all of the blemishes finally spraying the car in its original silver colour The underside has been checked a coated in stone chip and the wheels rather than the original silver have been sprayed in anthracite black setting off the car.
The brakes , were already sufficiently competent to pass an MOT , but I thought they could do do with a good service as really decent braking is a bit of a fetish of mine. So the rear discs , callipers and pads were replaced with new . The front were treated to new discs/ pads and a pair of reconditioned callipers.
I
The 1. 8 135BHP K series engine runs very smoothly . I used a flushing oil before replacing filter and filling with quality fresh oil . I fitted a new battery during the restoration , so it has had little use and always kept charged . The under floor front to rear coolant pipes have been upgraded to S/ S . There are good tyres all round and new wiper blades. I checked all the wiring, since the steering wheel horn buttons didnt work , and the previous owner had fitted a toggle switch on the side of the centre console. This was quickly removed , to restore the function of the original steering wheel horn buttons , I replaced the Rotary Coupler , I also sent the BCU control box away for checking by a specialist . Horn buttons now function . The washers were intermittent so I replaced wiper / washer switch . All the electrics including the radio now work . The hood has been thoroughly cleaned re-dyed and re- proofed . The rear rear screen has been replaced . the hood now looks excellent. I`ve just fitted a new pair of wiper blades , the one was smearing the screen a bit .
There is a folding wind deflector and also locking wheel nuts. I replaced the rear N/ S tyre as it was an advisory in the previous MOT . There is a very small chip on the windscreen mentioned in advisories on the MOT also in previous MOTs There were two other advisories , the N/ S track tod end slight play , so I replaced it and some corrosion underside , but not causing any problems . This is where the jack was jacked up many time during restoration and it chipped some underseal off So I recoated all these areas with stone chip . Recent health problems have made it almost impossible to get in or out of the car I am also having treatment for cancer, sadly it leaves me with no alternative , other than to sell it . Since it is not going to be used by me I am open to offers as I don`t want it sitting in the garage unused . PLEASE NOTE AS MENTIOED , I DO NOT HAVE INSURANCE ON THE CAR DUE TO COST BASED ON MY AGE.. THE GARAGE WHO DID THE NEW MOT COLLECTED THE CAR AND DELIVERED IT BACK FOR ME . NEW MOT IS UNTIL END OF MAY 2026 .
