Description
When it was launched in 1992, the original Honda Fireblade, with the drilled fairing and round headlamps was hailed as the groundbreaking sports bike of the 90’s, lighter and with the best power to weight ratio of any other sports bike, weighing in at 185kg
The 16 valve 893cc in line 4 engine produces 124+ bhp and tops 155mph+ (I only did it once)
My Blade has had 5 owners from new, I bought it from a sports car specialist who informed me they had taken it in part exchange for a sports car as the previous owner had scared himself riding it?
It has just returned from an MOT and major service. I have owned the Blade since 2000 but it was always my fair weather bike and has been constantly garaged since then.
Over the years I have always kept up the MOT's and services (apart from a small hiatus during a divorce) even though it has covered only a few miles in the last 10 years.
When I bought it it was in the later 1997 model of Yellow and Purple (much nicer that the original dull grey black?) and I have had it resprayed and new decals again since then, It has purple anodised wheels and colour matched water and oil pipes, the bike still has the original Honda muffler (a couple of small surface scratches) the original Honda toolkit is still under the seat and it has a rear grab rail.
The bike is in a lovely condition for the year and mileage as you can see from the photos.
I am now in the process of retiring to a warmer climate and have faced the fact that I am never going to ride a sports bike again (age and a bad back) and as I will no longer have access to a garage abroad it makes sense to sell it.
The original model Blade has increased in value over the last few years and all informed opinion says that it will continue to do so?
I am advertising the Bike now so the advert is ready to view but I will not be flying back to the UK until next week so any requests to view the bike will not be possible until the after the 11th June (I may take some more photos and upload then?)
Whether you want to ride a fast great handling bike, even by todays standards, or you are just looking for an investment my Blade is well worth viewing.
Now reduced (ono) I am closer to moving so I need to sell a bit faster than previously hoped.
