Short Story. V5 in my name at my address owned for 2 years
Loads of history but needed the sills welding and tub repairing this has been done. The entire braking system has been stripped and rebuilt with new parts. Front and rear suspension, new SS nuts and bolts New Protech adjustable dampers. Engine has just had a full service including Cam belt all pulleys and water pump. This has AC which is all in place but doesn’t blow cold. Interior is leather which is nice and soft. The hood is in very good condition and comes with a set of “Jamie’s” seals. The exterior is good from 10 feet but has marks and has had paint. The doors, bonnet, boot and hatches all open close and line up. Surface rust on the chassis but no rot. The wheels have just been refurbished with brand new NS-2 tyres . The electrics all work and comes with a Bluetooth Dab radio.

Long story
Engine
New Cam belt with water pump and all pulleys April 2025
English flush, oil filters and coolant April 2025.
New coils and cables just before my purchase ( less than 100 miles ) New plugs April 2025
Engine and gearbox cleaned it was plastered in grease March 2025
Rads all flushed and checked, new coolant. Bleed valve replaced with a steel bleed cap. March 2025
Exhaust, rear is a Stainless-Steel front is steel but in good condition
Gearbox and Drive shafts
Nothing to say works and doesn’t leak
CV’s and Tripod cleaned greased all ok. Boots OK.
Brakes
Front / Rear, callipers and carriers removed, stripped, shot blasted then painted and rebuilt with new parts. The paint needs redoing as bleeding the system was a saga.
New Brake master cylinder ( Original alloy one included in spares).
Hard lines all replaced front to back
All flexi’s replaced with Aeroquip SS braided lines and fittings.
The rear discs have been converted to 2 parts hubs so you can get off the shelf discs
Handbrake works perfectly but the cables have stretched, there is still adjustment available
Interior
No rips or tears but driver’s seat bolster is showing wear.
The carpets are clean and tidy with brand new over mats. All old underlay removed and replaced with Yoga mats
New handbrake and gear-lever gaiters.
The door cards are Ok but showing signs of age and held on with all kinds of fittings ( Lotus bodge)
Pioneer stereo, Bluetooth for handsfree and music streaming with DAB +, speakers are Sony and larger Clarions up front
Dash is in very good condition and glovebox fits well.
Exterior
The passenger door has been resprayed and the rest of the car has various marks and scratches due to age, the bumpers need tidying. It still looks good after a clean but would benefit from a tidy up to really make it pop. You could happily park it in a line up at a show but it’s not going to win any awards currently. Doors, boot lid, bonnet, rear hatch and fuel filler, all fit, open and close correctly.
Chassis / Backbone
Surface rust but no rot or damage. I was going to LanoGaurd it but have had no time, at the moment it is ready to be wire brushed and then coated. Underside has been fully cleaned so ready for an inspection.
Tub
This is where I have completed most of the work both outer sills have had both ends repaired. All the rot cut out treated and then new metal let in. The tub has then been glassed as required. All 4 jacking points are rock solid. The captive nuts have been chased and copper slipped with new bolts and spreader plates. The driver’s side rear quarter has been repaired at some point ( Nothing in the history).
Suspension
All suspension parts have been removed from the rafts and rear chassis. Cleaned, painted and fitted using SS nuts and bolts where possible. New Wishbone joints. The front ARB has been converted to a rose jointed setup. All 4-wheel bearings have been replaced and the track rod ends / control arms all freed off and cooper slipped so they can be adjusted. April 2025
New Protech coil overs with adjustable damping on all four corners.
Wheels
15” OZ, all four have been striped, powder coated and then 4 brand new NS-2 tyres fitted March 2025
Air Con
It is all there and turns on but doesn’t get that cold. No idea if it has no gas or needs something else.
Electrics
The car has factory standard wiring everything works as it should.
Both headlights lift motors have been stripped, cleaned and new couplings used.
The rear lights work and fit perfectly but the covers have stress cracks on them in various places.
Comes with a Elanscan adaptor
Roof
Still nice and black with no tears or damage. Goes up and down as it should
The rear window has minimal clouding, and I believe would benefit from one of those “in a bottle treatments” you can apply.
I have the following “Jamie’s” seal for the car: One piece windscreen surround, 4 upper window seals a set for each side. Loads as pictured in the files some specialist in its early life then receipts and Local garages bills
