2000 Mercedes-Benz CLK320 Elegance Automatic with exceptionally low mileage in superb condition
This lovely Mercedes CLK was equipped when new with just about every extra then available and cost its first owner the huge sum of £46, 680 new in June 2000 – that is the equivalent of £87, 400 today! It was specified in what is called Mercedes Jasper blue metallic paint with light alpaca grey nappa leather upholstery and has been cosseted since new with very little use. It has the standard 7 spoke alloy wheels, a really luxurious wood & leather steering wheel, original Mercedes CD player, cruise control, air conditioning, electric soft top, power memory seats and heated seats, with parking sensors front and back, and even a special Mercedes wind deflector so that front seat passengers don’t get blown about when the hood is down, electric windows, trip computer, and remote locking.
Automatic transmission, so never over-revved, smooth and creamy power from the superb V6 engine of 3199cc producing 218bhp, which gives a superb and quiet performance, (one of the best engine designs Mercedes ever made) and it is surprisingly economical – can give 35mpg or even more on longer runs. I bought it in 2008 from a motor trader who had purchased it from the first owner. I chose it because I wanted a low mileage version of this precise model, although I found that it had been driven more by the motor trader in the year before I bought it, than in the previous seven years from new! But he had looked after it carefully too. So it is a three-owner car.
I used it quite often in my first couple of years of ownership but since then it has hardly been used, although properly serviced and always kept in a dry garage. So, the body shows no corrosion and the hood is still in excellent condition. It is a lovely car, and everything works – we have tried only to use it when the weather is good, and the lack of use is because we are fortunate to have other cars. Too often, when we wanted to make a special trip, the weather has not been encouraging and so we have kept this one garaged and dry! Having recently moved to a new house, we now have much less garaging and so it is time for someone else to enjoy this lovely and luxurious car! Because it is still in such superb condition my guess is that so long as the car continues to be garaged and looked after, it will prove a long-term asset, given how the value of the previous E series convertibles in really good condition have held up.
All tools, books and manuals are included along with 2 keys.
