Jaguar produced the XJ40 series from 1986 to 1994 and by 1993 had ironed out many of the early issues, making the last of the generation a wonderful reliable and elegant luxury saloon with a more refined look and drive compared to the Series III.
The 3. 2 litre inline-six engine, with the increased power and improved fuel efficiency of dual overhead cam shaft, mated to 4-speed automatic gearbox delivers around 200 bhp ad a top speed of 130 mph. The AJ6 engine, also used in the XJS, is a robust unit- smooth, torquey, and much easier to live with than the V12s of the era.
The interior has all the usual refinements; luxurious leather and walnut trim and by 1993 Jaguar had gone back to an analogue dash (thankfully – as the digital units were notorious for failure).
As you’d expect from a Jag the driving experience is superb; the ride is smooth but not too floaty, the engine is powerful but balanced and the gearbox is precise and smooth.
This outstanding example is finished in British Racing Green with gold coachlines & particularly smart Beige leather and walnut interior, even the headlining is in good order. The switchgear is operating well with no faults to report on the electric windows, seats, sunroof and cruise control etc.
A low mileage example, having covered just 87, 000 miles with 5 former keepers, its been incredibly well looked after with comprehensive service records from 1995 to date. The original bookpack includes the Service Book with stamped up service history, a collection of maintenance records, invoices, receipts and MOT history including the current MOT to Feb 2026.
Recent works, as well as routine servicing include new tyres, new shocks and a power steering pump.
The DVLA report just 86 XJ6 3. 2 Auto’s on the road, 27 from 1993, and as they become harder to find values are steadily increasing.
