Description
Welcome to this advert for my 2004 Mercedes e55 Kompressor (W211) in Brilliant Silver Metallic with Black Anthracite leather, which I have owned since May 2019 / 37, 984 miles, and which I have decided to sell after nearly 5 years of ownership. It currently has around 45, 500 miles on the clock which may rise slightly prior to sale. Visually and mechanically, the car is in extremely good condition as seen on the photos and my description that follows.
I had been looking for a nice E55 Kompressor for a while before this one popped up. I think it would be rare to find an unmolested one today in this condition, with such a high level of specification, and with such a low mileage (backed up by service invoices and MOT history). FSH from MB until 2017, then various suppliers.

It drives perfectly! I typically have it on the road only for two months each year, and use it generally during that time, and the rest of the time it is in a dry and dark garage on a battery monitor. This is a properly fast car and it is really good fun to drive, as long as you don’t let it run away with you! It is actually very good on motorways, smooth, comfortable and 25mpg. But where it really excels is on the twisty bits . Absolutely brilliant device really.
It has active suspension, active headlights (illuminates round corners), active / driving dynamics seats (these are really good in ‘cornering grip’ mode, but they also have massage options, are heated and cooled too), and the gearbox seems extremely well calibrated to the engine unlike in non AMG model Mercedes cars.
It has the strong and very well proven M113. 990 5. 4 litre 24 valve V8 engine with 476hp / 516tq, and this runs really (!) strong and powerful, without the supercharger engagement ‘chirp’ which so many of these engines suffer from. Gearbox is the ubiquitous and reliable 722. 6 5 speed automatic, and this too works perfectly.
All interior and exterior electrics (front seats, seat heaters, windows, mirrors, glass sunroof, lights, parking sensors) work correctly, as does the heating and ventilation system.
It has a good stereo system (Harman Kardon), with 6 CD changer in the console. I updated the Satnav to the latest software available and all this works correct along with the rest of the original COMAND system through the steering wheel controls etc.
The interior and exterior are in near perfect condition for a 20-year-old car. A particularly useful feature is the 1/ 3, 2/ 3 rear seat split, which means that you can get a large flat load area if you need to, making it a very practical car too. There is a ski hatch additionally. The wheels are in excellent condition and the tyres are from a premium brand with near full tread remaining on the front, and probably around 50% on the rears.
All in all, I think this represents a rare opportunity to get hold of a truly UNmolested E55K in near perfect condition and with zero deferred maintenance outstanding. I seriously doubt you could find a better one on the market today!
