Description
1938 Citroen Traction Avant. A very reluctant sale due to illness. An unusual car as it is right hand drive and built in the Citroen factory in Paris. It was exported to the UK as a new car and first registered in Scotland in early 1939. The subject of a total bare shell restoration some years ago with few miles covered since. The body shell was fitted with new floors, sills, jambons, etc., etc. Hence there is no rust or rot anywhere in the car. Mechanically rebuilt with ID engine (crank grind, new shell bearings, new little ends, timing chin, etc. etc.) and high ratio final drive gearbox, new brakes and pipework, new bearings, etc. etc. All new wiring and converted to twelve volts and brand new battery. Large period Marchal headlamps and LED bulbs. Interior retrimmed, new headlining, etc., inertia seat belts, leather trim as per an original French option. Drives very well and quite fast on the road. Toured France in late 2024 with no problems. Comes with selection of useful spares and bits and pieces and lots of history and old bills, etc. Some patina to paintwork due to inadequate preparation. Invoices for many thousands of pounds! Open to negotiation and discussion on price!
