Vw Golf Mk1 GTI CC Christmas Cabrio
1986 with just under 73k miles
12 months MOT.
Timing belt and tensioner replaced.
New heavy duty battery.
Alpine Radio/ Cassette.
Very good all round condition, a few scabs of surface rust here and there.
Solid underneath, has been welded once on the rear of the drivers side cill.
Lots of service history, old tax discs etc.
The last owner had it since the 90’s.
2 keys, all original locks.
Always garaged.
Interior good, with little wear however, the drivers side headrest has given up its fabric in the past to repair a bolster.
The car will come with enough seat fabric to retrim the complete interior. I had the fabric custom made in the USA as the original fabric is now obsolete.
Starts, runs and drives as it should.
A good clean example of which is now a very rare car. I bought the Golf about a year and a half ago with the aim to fully restore it and then take it to shows etc.
The rarety of this special edition, the low mileage and the service history all contributed to the appeal to fully restore the Golf to or even better than new condition.
Reportedly, only 750 CC’s were produced, with 300 delivered to the UK where it was sold as a GTI. Reportedly, just 42 are still registered in Britain.
Unfortunately I’ve not had the time to do any work on the Golf and can’t foresee having any time in the future due to other projects.
