Very, very reluctantly selling my beautiful Alfa Romeo Spider, due to a house renovation cost spiralling out of control. It’s the Italia Independent edition, so it comes in matte grey paint (not a wrap!) over black leather. This is one of the last Spider’s made for the UK, and as a result comes with the rare TBi petrol engine with 200BHP. Additionally, for this engine the Alfa improved many aspects over the earlier versions, lightening the overall car by around 150kg from 06-09 Spiders. The TBi also comes with 330mm Brembo brake callipers of the V6 model.
The interior comes with real carbon fibre inserts, ice-cold dual-zone climate control, audio with USB input and bluetooth phone, and power folding door mirrors. Everything works very well, except that is a single line going across the screen of the audio unit. It might be worth upgrading to a newer version anyway. The drivers seat has wear (the Poltrona Frau leather is unsealed on this model), but no tears. Crucially the roof operation works flawlessly and the roof, although a little worn, it completely water tight. It has had a new motor fitted a few years ago. I have a brand new set of Alfa Spider mats (extremely hard to find today) that I will give to the new owner.
The car drives beautifully, and has a full service history, with the previous owners also being Alfa Romeo enthusiasts. I am an AROC club member, and as I was not planning to sell, I have just spent a significant sum at Alfa Workshop having a new cambelt fitted, thermostat replaced, and full service carried out. I also asked them to check the subframe, which came back as all OK. It has an MOT until next May and sits on Pirelli tyres all-round, and externally there are a few scratches and pin dents here and there, but nothing major. It is by far the best visual shape you can buy for less than 50K, has gotten me more positive comments than my SL or my S2000 combined, and is ready for a new enthusiast to take over.
