Description

Extremely rare and pristine Ford Racing Puma, unmodified and preserved to an exceptional condition. This example benefits in value from a professional restoration and OEM rebuilt engine with now just 3, 300 miles. One of 500 limited production cars, built for a special track purpose.

#159, has been in my care for the past 7 years, and is one of the cleanest FRPs on sale. Original service history from 2004 to 2010, after which the car was placed into long-term dry storage during the first phase of its restoration (2010-2017). In 2017, as part of a commitment to long-term preservation and originality, the decision was made to fit a brand-new OEM rebuilt engine, installed by Pumabuild, despite no mechanical failure. This was a proactive enhancement to future-proof the car and reinforce its collector appeal. The engine was installed between March and June 2017 and correctly run in using the proper break-in procedure.

From 2017 to 2025, the car has been serviced annually regardless of mileage. As a result, FRP #159 now benefits from an exceptionally low-mileage engine (just 3, 300 miles), making it one of the lowest-mileage examples mechanically, while retaining its original, unmodified character and OEM specification. Always garaged, but not a garage queen, this car is enjoyed with care as it should. Mechanically perfect and drives spot on. Never used on track.

Full underbody, mechanical and body restoration, between Jan - May 24 by none other than Chris Allison - Puma specialist. To scratch the surface, this included but was not limited to: Fuel tank, rear axle, Alcon brakes all refurbished. Brake lines, wheel bearings and fuel pump/ sender unit replaced. Engine cam/ aux belts also replaced with correct timing tool.

In 2024 the car also underwent a professional re fabrication of the wheel arches to ensure any signs of corrosion removed and resprayed in factory imperial blue metallic. The coachwork is in overall great condition with no rust issues. The underbody and floor pan has also been treated and sealed.

11 former keepers, not unusual for a track/ sports car, but a known history with supporting documentation, including dealer ownership and recent enthusiast custodians; all listed by a VQ7 document, produced by the DVLA. Extensive history folder including FSH, receipts, coveted owners guide supplement and brochure, Ford certificate of authenticity. Sold with box of spare parts.

4x excellent tyres, alloys clean. Discs/ pads like new. AC blows ice cold due to new compressor, accumulator, pressure lines, leak check and regas. All electrics operate seamlessly, including items like the heated front windscreen, windows and mirrors, with no faults. Interior pristine with NO visible wear to seat bolsters or alcantara. Smoke/ pet free, HPI clear, 2 keys. Included is a box of spare parts. The car is also officially registered ULEZ compliant.

Excellent investment opportunity as a classic Fast Ford needing no work. Turn key classic with long MOT, no advisories. Priced to sell.
