Hi,
I'm helping my father in law x old school hot rod racer Nigel Murphy sell this beautiful classic 1969 Ford Cortina 1600 GT in purple/ burgundy.
Reading into the MOT paperwork it's only done 695miles in 10years, all without advisories the last expired in 2023, it is MOT exempt.
The passenger door mirror had been temporarily removed when pics taken but is in perfect condition and will be present on the sale.
Nigel's own words;
I bought this off a friend close to three years back and have only clocked up 300 miles since owning it.
Bonnet area and inner wings no welding or plating in VGC.
Floor panels and chassis rails VGC, no rust.
Rear spring hangers VGC no rust.
Engine very good no knocks or rattles.
Gearbox VGC.
Outer bodywork and front wings VGC generally but there are a few blemishes in places.
Steering box needs attention ie. stiff steering.
Window rubbers are perished.
After market front shock absorbers with adjustable spring ride heights, rear suspension spring leaves with shock absorbers.
Engine, differential and gearbox oil tight, no leaks. Undoubtedly, a great example and cool popular slice of classic reliable Ford motoring fun, this lovely looking low mileage 1600GT has such a sweet-sounding Weber twin choked engine.
An enjoyable drive for any car enthusiast, very manageable to maintain, sporty GT trim, wider than the Mark I with a larger boot and interior it has the balance of practicality and performance of it's time.
