Description
1959 MGA 1600 Roadster LHD USA Import.
Imported from the USA a few years ago by the previous owner as a running and driving car. Me and my father purchased the car back in 2015 to use for a few years then restore. After a low oil pressure issue was discovered we parked the car to await its turn in the restoration queue. Aside from stripping it down to begin the restoration in 2022 it’s sat idle since. My father lost his battle with cancer at the beginning of the year so I’ve decided to move the car on. It was always his and the plan was to restore it together.
The car is around 97% complete, it’s a very original unrestored car. Fully matching numbers as far as can be ascertained. I spent a great deal of time sourcing any bits that were missing or un-original with correct date coded parts, referencing the book Original MGA. This will need a comprehensive restoration without doubt, however with it stripped down already you should be able to get a good idea of what is required. Paperwork for an American import MGA is very good. UK V5 with registration held. Import duties paid. The file is thick with paperwork from ownership both past and present. The car was owned by the same family in the USA from the 1960’s till 2012. They clearly cared about the car, there is a photo with them in the car from the 70’s.
This will need to be trailered away, it does roll however. I can offer delivery, however it will need to be agreed to before sale.
