Honda VFR400R NC30
Lovely example, original Honda fairings and colour scheme, low mileage, mechanically spot on with much recent expenditure. Will come with a fresh years MOT, rides and looks superb. Walk around running video available.
If there’s one bike that will always strike up a conversation it’s an NC30, pull up to a bike meet and you’ll get comments of “I used to have one of those” or now more commonly “would you sell it?” They are one of the most fun and solid investments you’ll make in a retro bike without breaking the bank, combine that with the useable ‘license saving’ performance and one of the best handling chassis’s Honda ever produced… Well you can see why 35 years on they are still so popular.
Imported in 1999 this excellent 1992 R3-N model is finished in the correct for year type 8 colour scheme with just 36k km or 22k miles, HPI clear with only 6 UK owners. The bodywork has been previously restored with the paintwork professionally done to a very good standard and as you’ll see in the photos still presents very well indeed. The fairings are original Honda items which always fit and look far better than the Chinese copies that so many of them now wear, it’s also refreshing to see a rarer colour scheme rather than the usual Type 1 red/ white/ blue that everyone seems to replicate, the decals are all on top of the paint as per factory with the exception of the tank which is clear coated again as per factory.
It is fitted with as new condition Bridgestone BT090R’s and has just had a full service including all fluids and filters, the carbs have previously been stripped and professionally cleaned and inside the fuel tank is like new. It rides incredibly well, fires up instantly from cold or hot, there are no flat spots or hesitations and it pulls cleanly right through the rev range (quite rare for an NC30) It’s had the charging system sorted out with wiring professionally replaced and a new high quality Japanese regulator rectifier from David Silver spares fitted and looking at the rest of the mechanicals it’s clearly been a well maintained bike.
Fitted with a nice sounding Venom silencer (not overly loud at all) The factory downpipes and collectors are in excellent condition with no corrosion issues and the fittings and fasteners are all in very good order. Clear indicator lenses have been fitted to the original indicators and could easily be swapped back to orange if you wished. Two keys with the same key fitting all locks
A really nice bike, obviously not concourse but way above the average NC30 and in that sweet spot of being useable, showable and sensibly priced… happy days.
