1968 lotus elan s4 having undergone a full mechanical and cosmetic restoration
Only 2 owners first owner nearly 50 years in the first year of ownership he decided he wanted a drop top so according to the lotus archivest he purchased a drop top body no. 7408 the vin is still a 36 but the body is a factory 45.
I Have owned 7 elans over 48 years
This car had a full body off restoration in 2021 with enhanced tissue resin application especially to stressed areas around the headlights etc to minimise stress cracks ( of which there are none)
All original body lines are still visible no rounded front wing tops.
The lotus replacement chassis has been stripped and repainted all suspension parts stripped painted and re bushed
The drive shafts are upgraded no rotoflex couplings
The car is fitted with a 701M block sought after by the racers and an original N stamped sprint cylinder head sporting twin 40 dcoe webbers
Interior has walnut dashboard original seats and everything works as it should.
The car drives really well and always attracts a lot of attention at car shows
My reason for selling is my age and lack of use so looking for an enthusiast with a nice cosy garageAs this was the greatest British sports car ever the benchmark for all other sports cars it’s a must for the classic car enthusiasts
