Description
I am just the 4th owner since 1933.
Last owner but one had car for over 40 years and rallied her extensively including Monte Carlo.
Massive history files including some fascinating photos.
This car is well known in Alvis circles.
Prior to WW2 the original owner allegedly visited every single European country in the Alvis.
I bought her at auction some 3 years ago and immediately had the engine rebuilt including white metal bearings.
A renowned Alvis specialist installed a five gear synchro gearbox. The original four speed crash box is included in sale, but would need some restoration.
The car drives, steers and stops beautifully and we have recently returned from a rally to Brittany & Normandy.
The paintwork looks terrific from a metre distance. Closer inspection will reveal some minor dings and blemishes consistant with an old car in regular use.
The car has never overheated, but has a manual electric fan which we have never had to use!
The car is a very comfortable 4 seater, and there is boot space behind the rear seat.
The beige upholstery is overall in good condition. Just a couple of minor imperfections that could be corrected with diy kit.
The Firefly represents amazing value, as she looks so similar to many much more expensive and valuable models. Firefly ownership gives the owner access to the fantastic Alvis Owners Club, surely one of the most sociable, friendly and interesting of all single marque clubs.
