Mercedes Pagoda 280SL
In classic Mercedes white.
Only 3 owners from new. I have owned the vehicle for 12 years.
Serviced and maintained by the classic Mercedes specialists Roger Edwards Motors of Amersham.
During my ownership I have had significant work carried out including a full, engine out, refurbishment of the engine bay to an exceptional standard.
New heater controls.
New carpets throughout.
Some chrome work refurbishment.
Gearbox mountings.
Sub frame mountings
Original Becker radio with iPhone compatibility.
New door mirrors.
123 Electronic Ignition.
The previous owner had carried out many improvements including a new sof top, refurbishment of the soft top frame, new exhaust throughout, complete overhaul of the brakes.
The previous owner told me the first owner had stated a new engine was installed by MB and the speedometer reset to zero but he didn’t have any paperwork to verify this. There was however, a metal tag in the engine bay to confirm this but this was lost during the engine bay refurbishment work. The car drives very well and the engine pulls very smoothly and runs well.
Also, a full respray in Mercedes white, which is showing some signs of minor micro blistering in some areas but overall very presentable.
There is some peeling to a small part of the chrome on the front bumper (see photo)
There is a small nick on the rear corner of the softop (see photo)
There is a hardtop in white which the car hasn’t seen since the day of my purchase. It has sat in my summer house for 12 years gathering dust but is in decent condition throughout.
The current insurance agreed valuation is £120, 000
Unfortunately, a house purchase forces an extremely reluctant sale. As classic motoring goes, there doesn’t get much better than a Mercedes pagoda. Very easy to drive and use in modern traffic with a perfect blend of looks and performance.
