Originally supplied new directly to Mercedes-Benz Japan from the Bremen Mercedes- Benz plant in Germany in rare right hand drive spec.
This car has seen minimal dry use over the last 5 years covering less than 1, 500 Miles in that time. The car was purchased from JT AutoClassics (- details above) the original importer in 2019 and is an ideal car for the discerning Mercedes collector and enthusiast.
Genuine low mileage pristine C55 AMG estates such as this are now extremely difficult to find due to being produced and sold in tiny numbers. Produced only during the latter half of the W203 C-Class’ production run, the C55 AMG followed the classic MB/ AMG concept of installing a large V8 into as small a car as possible. In the case of the C55 this took a significant amount of re-engineering as the whole nose of the car had to be lengthened to accommodate the hand-built, naturally aspirated M113 5. 4-litre V8 engine.
Estate versions of high performance saloons such as these always seem to carry more kudos but are always built in fewer numbers and the C55 is no exception. In total just 595 were built worldwide with reportedly less than 50 offered to the UK market, making it one of the rarest AMG cars of the 21st century.
In beautiful condition throughout with superb paintwork, unmarked wheels and the interior is similarly exceptional with no wear or damage.
Condition underneath is fantastic with all suspension components looking clean and fresh with absolutely no rust and just a light dusty coating from normal use, this example was originally supplied new in Japan and has seen no salt in it’s life and underside condition reflects this, it could easily pass for a near new car underneath that’s been on the road a matter of months! Crucially being supplied new to Mercedes-Benz Japan this example suffers none of the the usual corrosion issues which affect European market examples. Galvanised panels also featured on the W203 C55 for the first time.
The car drives with no faults as expected for a C55 AMG of this low mileage, and is simply superb to drive! The "bullet proof" 5. 4L M113 engine, is renowned for its reliability is smooth and powerful with superb torque when needed for overtaking, the 722. 6 autobox, rated to over 700 ft Ilbs is smooth and slick in all modes and unstressed in this application and suspension feels taut and direct, in fact this model has gained an unofficial reputation for being one of the most reliable AMG's ever made!
The car comes complete with all its books and a great history file with Mercedes Dealer services carried out at: 4, 900 miles, 10, 111 miles, 12, 483 miles, 22, 084 miles, 33, 945 miles and 37, 453 miles (JT Auto Classics UK) and a full B Service with Mercedes Benz Wirral 3/ 4/ 25 - 38, 658 miles. The car has been fitted with a set of brand new Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyers 15/ 05/ 25 and underwent a full advisory free MOT on the 15/ 5/ 25 (having a free advisory MOT history), at the same time the climate control / Air conditioning system was fully gassed.
