Description

Screen has now shattered, but have a spare. I built this car to compete in the 2001 12th Monte Carlo Winter Challenge. The guy I bought it from had converted a saloon to a coupe with the rear deck and roof. Along with a chassis off rebuild. I dropped in a 1300 spitfire engine and overdrive , this has now been removed. Vitesse brakes,, braided hoses, spax adjustable shocks , estate rear spring . Spitfire fuel tank for extended range and a long legged diff. It’s on 14” rims with awful tyres.
The interior is stripped , I have a pair of black seats and runners . Body work has a lot to be desired, but no big dents . I would expect someone to drop a new engine and box in , tidy the body up and go historic rallying! It’s solid underneath, not pretty . Floors good , all the glass is intact . The car was built up with the help of TRGB, went on at least 10 Le Mans raids and several UK classic rallies . For the Monte it was car 212, and we finished 2nd in class. It’s the opportunity to get a Herald Coupe and not worry too much about its rarity.
