1966 Austin 1100 Countryman LHD , excellent condition for year
The Heritage Certificate confirms build date 28th December 1966
Exported to Spain 10th January 1967, no history of its life in Spain other than being in a private car collection in Madrid for a number of years. The mileage shows 84, 000 kms which could very well be correct given the condition of the car.
The car has never been welded and is in excellent condition underneath with only surface rust. It has been repainted at some point and seats have been re trimmed.
There are a couple of minor blemishes as per photos, one to O/ S rear
panel and one to the boot lid , both have not bothered me .
The car drives as it should , the car was recommissioned by myself
(retired mechanic) in late 2022 and early 2023 with the following
Full service, oil , oil filter, air filter , fuel filter all changed
Head off and decoked
New bypass hose fitted
New radiator and hoses, plus thermostat and housing,
Steering rack , reconditioned
Drive couplings replaced with Hardy Spicer type
New wheel cylinders and all flexible hoses replaced
4 new tyres
The car is tax free and mot exempt
The radio and clock both need attention,
