Description
I'm part way through a TVR Taimar Ford 302 V8 conversion but sadly must move the project on. The bodywork has had all fibreglass imperfections addressed (by Steve Edwards of TVR Chimaera hard tops fame) and is now finished in epoxy primer ready for final painting with new door hinges and door fitting anomalies all addressed. The brakes and other areas received attention from Aeromotive TVR when I first acquired the car in its original form with the Essex V6, in the past the car has been owned by Adrian Venn who refurbished the chassis (pics available). Originally with a TR6 differential, the car now has a Salisbury 3. 54 ratio diff with a Quaife ATB LSD unit replacing the conventional LSD. The gearbox is now a Borg Warner T5 which has been completely refurbished by John Reid (Grantura Engineering) and is fitted to the car. The car also comes on 7x15 JBW Minilite rep wheels with new tyres. All parts removed are with the car including front/ rear screens and window glass/ fittings bar the TR6 differential which will be sold separately.
Although the engine is in the car it requires engine mounts making up (engineering drawings available) - the engine is a Ford 302 V8 from and was running very well prior to removal from the donor vehicle. It has a Holley Carb fitted - options available at extra cost. The Taimar also sits on rebuilt AVO shock absorbers., it has new bumpers to come with it and a revised single-pull bonnet locking kit plus quick release bonnet system.
A clutch and suitable flywheel will be required plus upgraded prop/ driveshafts and a radiator, exhaust etc making to suit ( I have contacts for much if this).
The base price of the vehicle is £10, 500 but is available as a package for £12, 500 with the following parts included.
New Edelbrock carburettor
Uprgaded rocker covers
New pair of AFR Enforcer alloy cylinder heads
Upgraded 4 pot front calipers and vented discs (Fosseway)
Period correct Corbeau seats (will need recovering)
I have way more invested in this car than the asking price (at either level) - it's in a great place to move forward and the potentially hugely expensive body rectification issues are all sorted. Always wanted one - especially a 5 litre converted car, sort of got there but life doesn't always take you down your chosen path.
